FAQ

Common questions.

Worked regular holiday: 200% of the daily rate for the first 8 hours (260% if it is also the employee's rest day). Worked special non-working day: 130% (150% on a rest day). Unworked regular holiday: still 100% of the daily wage for covered employees. Unworked special day: no work, no pay, unless a company policy or CBA says otherwise.

Regular holidays (e.g. New Year's Day, Araw ng Kagitingan, Labor Day, Independence Day, Christmas) carry the 200% worked / 100% unworked rule. Special non-working days (e.g. Ninoy Aquino Day, All Saints' Day) carry 130% worked and no pay when unworked. Each year's list is set by proclamation, so check the current year's calendar.

Hours beyond 8 on a regular holiday are paid at the holiday hourly rate plus 30% — effectively 260% of the basic hourly rate (338% if the holiday falls on a rest day). On a special day, OT is 169% (130% × 1.3). On an ordinary working day, OT is 125%.

Yes — daily-paid employees receive 100% of their daily wage for an unworked regular holiday, provided they were present (or on paid leave) on the workday immediately before it. For deployed guards, the agency shoulders the pay and the D.O. 174 bill rate to the client should carry the holiday-pay component.

Yes. Hours worked between 10 PM and 6 AM on a holiday earn an additional 10% of the holiday hourly rate, on top of the holiday premium. A guard on a 200% holiday night shift earns the 200% plus 20% (10% of the 200% rate) for the night hours.

Holiday runs are where manual payroll breaks.

NexusWorkforce stacks holiday, rest-day, overtime, and night-differential premiums straight from the DTR — per guard, per post, per day — and carries the same premiums into your client billing so nothing is paid out but not billed.
